art-supplies-obsession
Hi, I’m Jane and I’m obsessed with art supplies!
I LOVE art supplies. They just make me happy, and I know I am not alone in that! But I am not collecting them for the sake of it or to start my own art supply museum, I love using them!

In this 5-week online workshop you’ll discover which art materials work for you and how to use the ones you already have in new and exciting ways you may not have realised!

Do you ever walk into an art shop and feel overwhelmed by the options, intimidated by the ‘proper artists’ and lost on what to buy?

Supplies me is for you if:

  • You’ve ever felt confused about how to use your tools and suspect you’re just scratching the surface on what you can create with them?
  • you’ve bought a bunch of tools but can’t get them to do what you want. It feels a bit like trying to assemble something from IKEA without the instruction manual.
  • You feel a bit ashamed of your art supplies graveyard – that place your art supplies go where you don’t get the results you want or just feel too confused about how to use them properly, so they sit, gathering dust and drying up.
  • When new art supplies don’t work they way you expected, you immediately jump to the conclusion that you’re not good enough. You’ve seen someone else use them so well in a video. It’s similar to seeing someone else in a dress or an eye-shadow colour and you think “oh, that’s so beautiful.” and then when you see it on yourself it’s a different story.
Lesson Plan
Each lesson is devoted to a different category of art supply every mixed-media artist needs in their toolkit!

Lesson 5

Ink

Lovely, flowy and sprayable messy ink! Ink has the most amorphous description of all art supplies. It can take on many forms. Basically “Ink is a liquid or paste that contains pigments or dyes. We are going to dive right in!
supplies-me-lesson-6
Lesson 6

Markers

I did my fashion illustration training in Paris and markers were my weapon of choice. I have adored them ever since…let me show you a few tricks! As an artist, I love them because I discovered that they are NOT predictable. They have a naughty, mischievous side.

Lesson 7

Watercolour

Transparent, vibrant and unpredictable…the three qualities I love most about watercolours! When you hear ‘watercolours’ you may probably think of the type that comes in a tube or pan. But watercolours come in an interesting variety of forms.
supplies-me-lesson-8
Lesson 8

Pastels

Soft, squishy and tactile…its time to get your hands a little dirty! Pastels come in a wide variety of forms from chalky sticks to oily crayons! They are not built for precise, detailed work, they are all about intuitive colour, marks and play!
