Daniel Smith feature

 In Art, Art supplies

My work is featured on the Daniel Smith blog today. A bit spesh that. janedavenport 259As you know, watercolour makes my world turn. My next online workshop is called ‘Wonderland’ and is all about watercolor. With that event firmly in mind, my collection of watercolour supplies has grown quite ‘sumptuous’. So when I say Daniel Smith make some of the greatest substances known to man (Moonglow, Lunar Blue and Shadow Violet to name a few) it is a heartfelt and qualified honorific.

So when I was asked to write about one of my workhorse colours , Buff Titanium, I was pleased to give it a spotlight. It’s not ecentric like the other colours in my collection for Daniel Smith. It has no shimmer. It doesn’t hold secret colours in its heart. But it is a stable friend to me.
Buff Titanium is happy to be the stage and let the fancy colours bring the drama.janedavenport 260You can see the feature here: click

Looking at that photo of the brush lapping up that delicious creamy colour, makes me want to go and paint, IMMEDIATELY. I will be down in my studio. Toodle-oo!

xoxo

(As an aside, does anyone else say this colour name Sia Style ” I am Buff Tie-TAY-NEEEE-YUM!”?)
After you listen to the amazing song below, you will!)

Yes, I too also think of that particular music when using the titanium white shade of oil paint. Unlike the buff shade, I tend to use titanium white as the ‘cherry on top’ so to speak, adding that last hint of highlight for finishing!

Congratulations Jane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited for you. I adore Daniel Smith. It is the mecca here in Seattle. I remember going there as a kid with my mom thinking why the heck would she want to hang out in such a boring store studying stuff like brushes or paper so closely. Now, I *get* it. Big time. I look forward to adding your Daniel Smith colors to my collection. Everything they produce is TOP quality. I have never once regretted any investment in a Daniel Smith product. It always improves my artwork. Looking forward to your next class. Loved mermie circus. Congratulations. You deserve the success you’re achieving. <3

I do say it just like that which was an issue when I had to ask for the colour in my local art shop – I was given a funny look and wanted to sing the song! That made me smile reading your post and great song!
