My favourite version is Tim Burton’s version as it has superb colour and costumery

It’s the White Rabbit for me 🙂

My favourite character is the Caterpillar!! He is gorgeous and plump and oh so round. I like the way he is slow but sure, he’s pushy and hot tempered. The caterpillar reminds us that we can adapt to our surroundings, we can change ourselves so that we can do what we want to do, he tells us we are not fixed, and we can transform into anything we like.

I love the Tim Burton movie version for all the crazy of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. But even more I love the old story book, the original ink sketches – even black and white they bring the story to life. As a kid they were just enough of a hint that my imagination could run under its own steam and create a wonderland of its own.

    That’s a hard one…but I think it’s the Queen of Hearts!

  • Chris Goodall

The Cheshire Cat! I love cats and he is mysterious and philosophical with a grin from ear to ear

I love Alice in Wonderland for the way it plays with the concept of “time” from the white rabbit stating he is late to Alice starting to come of age in the book. My favourite character is the Mad Hatter for at the tea party he says he has offended “time” so now must have a perpetual tea party as it is always the same time of day!

He is a great character because he is full of puns and jokes which provides a contrast to the way in which you would conduct yourself at a Victoria tea party. The hatter makes you realise perhaps this is more fun than stuffiness!

The teapots chuffing away to the Unbirthday Song win me every time. They are colourful, appear to delight in what they do & celebrate birthdays for the other 364 days that aren’t your birthday – EXACTLY the way it should be – ie Celebrate who you are & don’t be afraid of glorious colour!
Happy New Year Miss Danger & Angus, hope this is it for bugs for you two this year! xox

Hi Jane. Tough decision! I love so many of the characters in Alice in wonderland. I think my favorite character in Alice in Wonderland is Alice. I also love the Cheshire Cat and hookah smoking caterpillar.

    Hi Jane,

My favourite character of Alice in Wonderland is the Mad Hatter. Art is my way of coping with anxiety in my life (my own and that of my loved ones) it give me permission to be expressive and through this scholarship I’m hoping to achieve new technical skills that will allow me to do that better.

My favourite version of the story is from the Tim Burton version as I feel he’s brought a different perspective especially to the creativity volumes allowed by the actors.

    Thanks for the opportunity, Jane.
    🙂

Hi Jane, I would love to be the winner of your FABULOUS Scholarship. My favorite character is Alice, well and the white rabbit, and maybe the Madhatter too, but the Queen is interesting too, and the frog and the unicorn, maybe the dragon…. Too many great characters to zero in on a favorite. hahaha. But I will say my favorite version is the original written story because you get to imagine it the way you want it when it is read. Love the plays on logic. Thanks for the opportunity to win. Hope I’m not too late!!! You are the best!

I think I am partial to the Disney version. It was the one I grew up on and it has such good memories. My favorite character is the mad hatter. I love how mad he is! Now, if we were to pick a character that we are most like, I would be the white rabbit. It seems I am always late even when I try to be on time. And I do chant “I’m late, I’m late, I’m late” lol

  • Liz

Loving the Chesire Cat sometime invisable some times within eyesight but always out there and fun

  • Mary

Alice is my favorite character, because of her sense of adventure. Am I too late? :/

  • Mary

  • Balinda

    Love the Cheshire Cat 🙂

  • Dave

My savior ore character is the little a scwheeling baby piggy
    Hers hoping for a schokarship!!

  • Lynn Dobson Simard

I love the queen of heart, just because i played her in a local production. All the Characters are pretty much fun and special.

  • Linda Thompson

The Mad Hatter, we arty types are all a bit mad I think, that’s what makes us arty. His large hat is great for holding in all the creative ideas going around in ones mind.

I hope you are feeling better by now Jane, I just love all your creative pursuits, such an inspiration. Thank you.
