These videos show how you can recycle watercolour paper. If you’re not happy with what’s on the other side, you can use the reverse side to create beautiful textured backgrounds. Even if the paper is a bit creased, like in one of my videos here.
First spritz the paper all over with a fine water mister. Then with a Jane Davenport Aqua Brush (filled with your choice of ink or watercolour), gently lay down strokes and drops of colour. Repeat with layers of different colours.
To lift areas of colour you can apply a solution of bleach and water for extra textural effects.
