New Prismacolor pencils

Well if I keep writing about coloured pencils you are going to think I am addicted to them…

…and you would be correct of course.

100% correct!

And if you are a Twitter or Facebook Friend you will have head me mention my excitement for the new colours that have been released. Seriously, I can’t help getting so happy about art supplies. They are so ripe with potential and beauty. Rainbowitis.

So these new 18 round out the current Prisma offering to 150 sticks of colourful delight. In that heady new mix are some discontinued fan favorites, revived and refreshed for 2011! The Neon and Deco colours were hoarded by fans ( and yes, i will admit to a dwindling little stash) when they were discontinued because they faded.  Deco Aqua and Neon blue are still missing… maybe they will be part of a future release?

So what can I tell you other than woo hoo! ? Well, the Neon colours will punch your eyes with their glowing colour. I have been playing with the Neon Pink in particular, and I love the little POP it gives. Deco Peach and Pink are so fabulous for porcelain skintones. Eggshell is a strong cream. I have it in the shortlived Prisma Lightfast range, and I am glad it is now a permanent addition… lovely for blonde highlights!

The new family of strong blues are so rich with pigment I wanted to eat them. Kidding! Pomengranate and permanent red are two hot new colours. I love pomegranates.
