In-Person Workshops at JDHQ

There’s nothing quite like gathering together in real life, sketchbooks open and colours swirling. My in-person workshops are held at JDHQ in Mullumbimby, NSW, Australia—a creative sanctuary tucked between the forest and the sea. Here, you’ll join a small circle of fellow Davenpeeps to explore new techniques, play with gorgeous art supplies (sometimes even unreleased ones!), and unlock fresh bursts of confidence in your creativity.

Every workshop is designed to feel like a creative retreat: immersive, inspiring, and joyfully unpolished. You’ll laugh, you’ll experiment, and you’ll leave with your pages brimming—and your heart full.

All the practical details—what to bring, where to be, and how to prepare—will be sent to you in your confirmation email, so you can simply arrive ready to dive in.

Throughout the weekend you will have the opportunity for Private shopping in the JDHQ warehouse if you desire!

Upcoming In-Person Workshops with Jane Davenport

Step away from your screens and into the vibrant, joy-filled world of in-person creativity! Each workshop is an intimate gathering at JDHQ where you’ll paint, draw, laugh, and play alongside fellow Davenpeeps. Every event is built around a unique theme and includes hands-on guidance from Jane, brand-new supplies to explore, and a supportive, uplifting atmosphere.

October 11–12

Windswept Whimsy
Let your lines loosen and your imagination fly as we dive into the art of flowing, expressive hair. HAIRloween will be in full swing, and our sketchbooks will brim with wild manes, swirling strands, and windswept wonder. You’ll get a sneak peek at a yet-to-be-released art supply (shhh, it’s still under wraps!), and the option to join an exclusive Life Drawing evening with Jane for even more inspiration.

November 1–2

HUEge Watercolour
Go bold, go loose, go BIG! This workshop is all about embracing scale—using oversized brushes, expansive strokes, and lush washes of colour. You’ll be among the first to dip into Jane’s brand-new HUEge watercolour sets, designed for those who want to immerse themselves in sweeping colour fields and joyful mark-making. Expect laughter, drips, splashes, and the kind of breakthroughs that only happen when you paint without restraint.

November 10–11 (Monday + Tuesday)

Flesh and Figures
Portraits and bodies take centre stage as we explore the subtleties of skin, form, and expression. Working with Jane’s portrait-inspired colour palettes, you’ll learn approaches that range from sketchy and stylised to soft and painterly. And because this falls on a weekday, you’ll also have the chance to attend a Life Drawing session with Jane—perfect practice for anyone eager to deepen their figure drawing confidence.

November 29–30

HUElementals
It’s time to shimmer, sparkle, and shine! This magical workshop celebrates iridescence, metallics, and pearlescent pigments. You’ll be working with Jane’s glorious HUElementals watercolours, a collection of mythical mineral and stardust hues that will make your pages glow like alchemy. Expect a weekend of wonder where you learn how to make shimmering pigments feel elegant, enchanting, and utterly your own.

✨ Every workshop is designed for artists of all levels—from Paintlings taking their first strokes to seasoned Sketchercisers expanding their creative flow. Bring your curiosity, your favourite journal, and your love of colour. Jane will provide the rest.

Ready to Join Us?

Spaces in these workshops are limited so that every artist gets plenty of attention, encouragement, and room to bloom. If one of these themes makes your heart skip, don’t wait too long—seats often fill quickly, and I’d love to have you with us.

Come as you are, bring your curiosity, and step into a weekend (or weekday!) of colour, connection, and creative play. Your sketchbook will thank you—and so will your soul

Angus and I look forward to welcoming you to JDHQ!
