Tapes for Altered Books
From USD $16.17
I use these tapes to repair and care for the vintage papers I use in my collages and for my altered books that I use as journals. The Lineco brand is used by Museum conservators worldwide. The glue in plain old masking tape will not last the distance!
Document Repair Tape
1” x 35′
This very thin and extremely transparent pressure sensitive document repair tape is non-yellowing, removable with solvents, and has a neutral pH. To use, dispense a length of tissue, place over the tear, and burnish with a bone folder. Working the adhesive into the tear causes the adhesive to strengthen the tear as well as cover and support the area around the tear. It has been thoroughly tested and approved by numerous government agencies and is a favorite of both conservators and collectors. Price per box.
The Binder’s Tape is for sewing signatures in a book together.
Book conservators, book makers, and crafters can all benefit from the use of this acid-free thread. Strong genuine Irish line. For hand sewing. Expands with moisture to prevent tears in paper.
Book Repair Tape Rolls are for use on the spine of your journals.
