Escape Artist: Paris

Session 2: Sunday 20th to Saturday 26th of July.

Planning and dreaming for this experience has been going on for 2 years. I have been to Paris over 20 times, I only have to watch Amelie and I’m searching for flights.

I look at this event not so much an art retreat, but as a unique opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful city in the world with a small group of artists and creative kindred spirits. We will be up early for croissants and journaling, and then off on an incredible artventure every day. Of course, you can expect the iconic art museums and shopping. But we will be venturing further afield as well – to Monet’s Garden at Giverny, to the world’s most AMAZING Flea Markets…plus many more surprises!

This will not be a ‘relaxing’ trip (come to my retreat in Bali for that). This Escape Artist Retreat will be action packed, because there is just so much to see, do and experience in Paris! We will be journaling, drawing and painting on the fly, squeezing art in whenever we can!

Paris calls to my soul. I love her. Love. Love. Love. We go way back. My first trip on my own, away from family and friends was into Paris. I went there to study Fashion Illustration and came home with overwhelming inspiration,  and my definition of beauty broadened to include architecture, gardens and life. I’ve been back so many times, yet there is always a feeling of discovery.

Paris is the ultimate city for the curious! And we will discover it on foot, bicycle and metro.

It’s time for me to return to this most charming, most intricate, most eclectic of places.I want to absorb her beauty. Be re-filled. I want to sit in her cafes and glorious green spaces and draw the passing parade. I need to soak up the wondrous contents of her art museums and walk under her grand icons. And this time I am doing it with a group of bonnes amies.
