Fridauary began as a feeling.
February felt a little tender this year ā the kind of month that doesnāt need more pressure, more productivity, or another full creative marathon. What it did need was colour. Courage. A reminder that making art, even in troubled or uncertain times, is one of the ways we endure.
So instead of 31 daily prompts, I created 10 Frida-inspired creative prompts ā small invitations you can dip into whenever you need a spark. Theyāre playful, symbolic, and rooted in what Frida Kahlo did so beautifully: making honestly, making bravely, making anyway. You can download the prompts below and use them in your own time, in your own way. No catching up required.
To celebrate Fridauary, we also have a collection of Frida-inspired art supplies on special ā tools designed to support expressive colour, faces, and fearless play. You can explore them here:

And if youāre nearby, Iād love to see you this Sunday at the JDHQ warehouse for a FREE Fridauary drop-in gathering from 10:00ā12:30. Iāll be upstairs drawing Fridas and playing with colour, while the warehouse is open for wandering, watching, and soaking up the atmosphere. Itās an adult-focused, low-pressure morning . Come for ten minutes or two hours.
Fridauary (or maybe Freedauary) is about giving yourself permission to create without fixing, proving, or perfecting.
Just showing up. With colour.
