A letter to my Blog

Dear Blog,

I went to  The Blogcademy to learn more about you and your inner workings this weekend. It was led by three stylish headmistresses,  Nubby Twiglet,  Kat Williams of Rock and Roll Bride and Gala Darling. They are the Charlie’s Angels of the blogging world – gorgeous, super-feminine BFF’s that kick-ass!

I wore pink glittery kitten ears and  thought of you all weekend. And I made my very first Instagram video for you ( for which I won a prize!). You can get a little idea of the fun and concentration that went down.

I listened very carefully and was filled with inspiration for all the places you and I can go together. I am filled with delight and enthusiasm from this weekend of fun and intelligent women.

I have grand plans for us dear Blog.

But I wanted to start small, so I went to tinker with a few little design elements to make you prettier than ever…and well… many hours later, you have had a rejuvenating spa treatment. There is more to come! I want our friends and readers to approach you like an open book, to be able to find what they need easily, to feel delighted they found us and fill up with inspiration. Maybe have a giggle or two!

As part of the Blogcademy, I was asked to describe your personality in 5 words. I think of you as happy, cheeky, colourful, inspiring and uplifting. We were encouraged to reach out to friends and ask them how they would describe you. I asked my ‘inner-circle’ my beloved JOYnal students, to join in and got the most AMAZING descriptions. Some went way over 5 words ( we even got told we have nice teeth!). This is for you my Blog:

You are no stranger to my fetish for evolution. Last year I did a workshop called My Darling Blog with Jo Klima to help you blossom, and the year before I did Blogging Your Way with Holly at Decor8 to polish my writing.
