I suppose most people look at a long weekend as a chance to kick back and relax a little… not Angus and I!
We are heading up to Brisbane for the Papercrafting Expo. We have created a ladybird polk-dotted -cuteness-mecca for Art journalers. It’s going to be fun!
I am speaking on-stage, twice a day.
In the morning session at 10.30 I will be Drawing live…sharing my Draw Happy principles. This will be a first for me…drawing for such a large audience! But if I just enjoy the drawing aspect, the rest of me will follow, so I won’t get too nervous. I am using my favourite materials – my Liquitex inks so Ill be smiling as soon as my hands touches the joyful little bottle. And Im trying something new – my NeoArt pastels by Caran D’ache.( They are the big, pro versions of the NeoColor 11’s). They were expensive and I am always reluctant to use them..so i am breaking that ridiculous thinking and going to really enjoy twirling and whirling all those breathtakingly gorgeous colours. They absolutely melt with water…and my heart melts when I’m using them… So, yes, I think I will be pretty happy on-stage!
In the afternoon session at 1.30 I will be speaking about Art Journal Joy and telling everyone why they should consider keeping one as a part of their overall creative health! I have made a giant version of an Art Journal and showing how I use mine as a form of creative meditation, a mad art science lab, testing ground for new supplies, verbal vomit catcher, idea nest, to-do keeper and inspiration factory. Yes, this is how I use my journal. Its a book by me…about me…a sort of autibiography that no one else has the code to.
Come and visit the expo – the Textile Arts show is all part of the fun too!
I’ll try and video it all, and share it here … wish me luck!
