Did you know that “The Impressionists” was originally coined as a derogatory term for the new wave of artists that jolted the Parisian art world into a new era? I learned this and many, many, many other things on my tour of the Musee D’Orsay in Paris just a few weeks ago…sigh….
Inspired up to just above my eyeballs, I decided I HAD to go to Giverny and visit Monet’s restored house and garden. After my amazing experience with my Paris bike tour, I decided to do it on bike…and had just about one of the most magical days of my trip…and here’s the proof!

Why was it magic? The tour was well organised and Megan our guide was full of beans, took good care of us and had spare raincoats for all! And then the Gardens themselves were just spectacular…amazing…breathtaking… Every flower seemed to be pink. I overheard another tour guide saying on her last visit a few weeks previous, every flowers was blue or white…Not that is some pretty mighty gardening chops!
And even though it rained consistently through out the garden visit, it added to the day for me as it emptied out the gardens a little and made the colours pop, pop, pop. I think everyone was taking shelter in Monet’s House…which was so crowded, I couldn’t get past the first room. Not to worry, I’ll be going back….!
Oh, I’m missing Paris again already…
mwah-mwah

p.s. Anne, who I met on the Giverny tour emailed me to say hello (that’s her at the end of the video in one of the funny ’emergency poncho’ raincoats that were issued and gratefully received on the tour!) … it was just the little push I needed to finish this video! Thanks Anne!
