I just got some of my Artwork up on the walls. Ben the Builder has finished the ‘major’ jobs for now, but he had a day of building Curator shelves for me.
These are shallow shelves with a lip so I can lean artwork on them. I can re-arrange and move at will. I like to swap artwork around and make room for new pieces. Get the balance just ‘so’. I go through cluttered and minimalist phases. I have seasonal themes, or colour themes, or style themes… hence the name Curator shelf! They are wide enough for 3D objects and canvases. They have a small lip, so things can’t fall.
You can see some of the Curator Shelves in the bottom pic. I have gone for cluttered with an emphasis on artwork from friends – you can see a few Mindy Lacefield originals, and some prints from Tam Laporte speckled in amongst my own work.
In the top photos you can see the stairwell going between my studio and office ( Moo is the tour guide!). Lots of room for BIG artwork. Some Canvas prints from my gallery, a Big painting on paper and a paper tablecloth that Teesha Moore drew on with crayon when I was in Seattle. Yes, I souvenired the tablecloth.
It’s so awesome having ARTefacts up, especially by friends around the world. It makes me feel more at home than ever!
