Lucky Girl

There are two things that i know for a fact from experience:

1. I am a lucky Lady.

2. You make your own luck.

I am feeling very lucky today having received a few little gifties in the mail… I have amazing Frida Kahlo postcards that arrived from Vanja – she felt moved to send the to me after the Frida Koahlo experience. I have such admiration for Frida the Artist and Frida the person. Although the event bringing it was so sad, it has been wonderful to connect with people over that mutual admiration.

I have a huge satchel of paper serviettes from Jas – just because! The true treasure with this is the ADORBS mail art! (Really? Could you be cuter Jas?!).

I am wearing my glass artworks from Diana Rast – I mean how much talent does she have to create these? I can’t even imagine how she does it, and I don’t want to know… I like thinking that she waves magic wands and the glass jumps to her bidding like the Magician’s Apprentice.

All the beads are glass – yes! Glass!

Diana tells me my glass mermie is magically toughened, but I am very careful with her because she is so darling!

And don’t please faint from jealousy, but look at this lovely mermie pin from Robyn Wood ( designed by Erst Wilder). And then I got this… an amazing little journal that tells the story of Coral-Lee’s weekend at The Nest.

I get gifts from all around the world from my students/friends/same thing and I treasure them…so much! Yesterday I started using a handmade journal sent to me by Maree – when I got it, i thought I couldn’t possibly use it… it’s too precious… But it wants to be written and created in… so I obeyed the artistic call!

With all the devastating news of the bushfires raging in the south of my state of NSW, I am finding that focusing on what I am grateful for, is helping me maintain my luckyness.
