I am coming to the end of another journal, so it’s time to look back at some of my favourite pages from the last three months!
I am astonished with how nourishing keeping an Art Journal is. I can whinge and moan on to a page (expulge the junk!) which gets it off my chest and out of my head. I then paint over it, and create something meaningful to me on top. It’s a great way to keep balanced! Who knows what rubbish lies beneath these pages…the good part is, I don’t care!
This is my favourite page from this journal I think, because Sophie my beloved niece sat with me while I drew these pages. She was chatting away non stop. You know the 5 year old running commentary on whatever VERY IMPORTANT TASK is at hand ( in this case, feeding her dolly, putting on the potty, changing the nappy, popping dolly in the pram, then in the cradle, then kissing…and coming along to whisper in my ear some delightful profanity that she had overheard! Then the chaos and cascades of giggles! Good times.).
I have photos and movies of these days, but my journal somehow encapsulates more…it warms the cockles of my heart!
