Hello, my fellow Davenpeeps!
Today I am going to show you a way to use Jane’s fantastic ink brush in a whole new way and make creating beautiful faces on the go even easier.
First we need to gather the following supplies:
Jane Davenport Mixed Media acrylic paint (I chose the color Highlight),
Liquitex Flow Aid,
a small squeeze bottle,
and a Jane Davenport Mixed Media Ink Brush.

Step 1: Squirt a little of the acrylic paint into your squeeze bottle (just a little-don’t go crazy!)
Step 2: Now we are going to add in some of the Liquitex Flow Aid. You are going to have to use your own judgement on how much. I believe it was about 10 drops that I added, but it will vary. Shake it up in the squeeze bottle.
(Janes Edit: I added some distilled water before the Flow -Aid and mixed those two before adding the paint as per instructions on the Liquitex bottle which advise to dilute flow-aid with water before use. Experiment for your own perfect recipe!)
Step 3: Squirt your mixture into the Ink Brush (note: I cut the tip of my squirt bottle off to make the hole a tiny bit bigger). The mixture should flow easily into the Ink Brush, but not be “watery”. If it does not flow easily then just add a few more drops of the Flow Aid medium.
That’s all there is to it! Now you can take your Jane paints with you wherever you go! I try to remember to rinse the brush out when I get home, but let’s be honest, 99% of the time I forget to. I find that I need to take the brush top off and give it a good rinsing every couple of weeks so that things don’t get clogged up.
(forgive the gross fingernails- I am currently spray painting my daughter’s furniture a “Bali Blue”- she and Jane
know a good shade of blue when they see one!)
I did this face on vacation while riding in the car. All I needed was my Ink Brush with paint in it,
Magic Wands, the Epic Pen, and Paint Over Pens. Now go gather your supplies and try it for yourself!
