If I only had time, you think.

Time to draw or paint or journal. To just play.
You DO have time:

Right now.

Creativity isn’t far away, or outside of you,
or laying somewhere forgotten.

It’s a small inner click, a heart-shift,
a joy making its way from the core of you,
down through your hands and into the world.
It asks you to TRUST the mess, to fold yourself into the PROCESS
and forget trying to be PERFECT for once.

In return you get an incomparable freedom.

So go for it…

No ones watching.

No ones judging or comparing.

The payoff will be
GLORIOUS.

I believe in this.

I’ve taken risks, leaps and tested my creative courage regularly.
To me, it’s the  way of life I have chosen.
A bit scary, a wild ride, but exhilarating.

And all you need to do, to become more creative is so simple,
I feel almost silly saying it…

“Start the art”.
I used to dream about becoming an Artist “one of these days”.
I even gathered all the art supplies I could ever need,
before I ever even put brush to canvas.
I imagined the type of art I might create and fantasised about how that would feel.

Start the Art

As a professional working artist that “has made it”
I have unraveled many, many discoveries along the way.
And this is the most important.

When I get stuck, I say those simple words to myself…
“start the art Jane…. just start….”
Not “I have to paint a masterpiece today”.
I don’t have to create perfect art.
I don’t even have to make ‘good art’.
I just need to commence creating.

Dozens of gorgeous people wander into my Byron Bay Gallery
every day and look wistfully at the artwork and dream out loud…
  ‘this’ is what they would love to do.
Tears are common.

When we see Art that speaks to us
it resonates so deeply because it tugs at
our own creativity… it shakes us up.
It makes us feel big and small at the same time.
We are all creative beings.

Start the Art.
