This is Tam the wonderwoman! When Tam felt overwhelmed by sad world events, she decided to raise money for clean water by creating a mini art class. She raised a collosal amount of funds for her Water Campaign at ‘Charity Water‘ and that will make a real difference to people in need. Inspirational!
She’s the mother of these two sweethearts! (Dylan and Elliot have very little to do with the rest of this post but… hello?! CUTE!!). They are full of personality and energy and keep Andy and Tam very busy!
Back to Tam… my friend and such an inspiration!
My first online Art Workshop was with Tam. I fell in love with her gentle personality, her sense of fun and her beautiful artwork. Over time, we became friends.
In 2011, Tam came up with the wonderful concept of Lifebook – a year long, collaborative online workshop. And Tam makes things happen! She asked me to be part of her new venture and of course I said “yes!”.Fast Forward, and Lifebook is heading into it’s fourth year. Thousands of people from around the world join in each year to create and build an arty community. It’s amazing.
On a Skype chat, I told Tam about my upcoming trip to Paris, and we started plotting a meet-up, and that turned into hosting a workshop! Drum roll for cutest logo in the world:
I had a ‘pinch myself’ moment when I finally met her in the flesh! ( well maybe that lasted for an hour) . It wasn’t like meeting someone for the first time, I felt like we were old friends catching up! I felt instantly at ease and so comfortable around her and I bet most people feel that same way. That’s the Tam effect.
So Angus and I were made to feel so welcome… and we went out to see the marquee and preparations for the workshop – GORGEOUS! All that was left to do was to hang colorful pennants in the apple trees.
In the rolling hills behind Brighton we gathered a creative bunch of fun people for a weekend of mixed-media mayhem and art! It really was a brilliant and super fun weekend.Perfect weather all day, smiles and art, art art! These cuties (sorry Steve to call you that, but you are a cutie too!) were a joy to teach
And look at the gorgeous, whimsical art created in Tam’s class: And after class, Tam and I would stay up WAY to laugh LAUGHING our heads off each night . It was wonderful. She is wonderful.
And so is her assistant/lifesaver/fellow wonderwoman: Gracie. I love looking at photos from this event! I had SUCH A GOOD TIME! I miss these two so much!
So aside from being my friend, a talented artist, a joy to be around and a wonderful mother with a loving little family, Tam is also the orchestrator of LifeBook – a year long mixed media workshop!
